WHERE WE ARE

NORTH EAST BEDFORDSHIRE

North East Bedfordshire – or N.E. Beds for short – is a largely rural constituency which has been represented in the House of Commons since 2001 by the Conservative MP, Alistair Burt.

 

This is your constituency if you live in:

  • the Bedford Borough wards of Bromham, Carlton, Clapham, Eastcotts, Great Barford, Harrold, Oakley, Riseley, Roxton and Sharnbrook

or:

  • the Central Bedfordshire Council wards of Arlesey, Biggleswade Holme, Biggleswade Ivel, Biggleswade Stratton, Langford and Henlow Village, Northill and Blunham, Potton and Wensley, Sandy Ivel, Sandy Pinnacle and Stotfold.     

The Labour Party has organised the constituency into four separate branches, each based on a group of voting areas, or wards. Our branches are:

Arlesey & Stotfold, BiggleswadeNorth Beds, and Sandy & Potton.

Alex Mayer MEP is Member of the European Parliament for the East of England region for the Labour Party. She took up the post in 2016 following the resignation of Richard Howitt.

In the European Parliament, Alex is Labour’s spokesperson for the economy and a member of the US-EU Relations Delegation. She is the international co-ordinator for the Washington DC Statehood campaign.

A campaigner to her core, Alex loves knocking on doors. Prior to becoming an MEP she worked in campaigns, fundraising and media.
